Christmas Terrariums

photo 1
If you need a last-minute décor idea or Christmas table centerpiece, this mason jar terrarium comes together quickly using items found around the home.
The Basics
  • Mason jar or other glass container
  • Rock salt
  • Greenery of your choice (I used rosemary from the garden.)

Tips to step it up:
Add a little bling by mixing in some Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter (item 133751) into the rock salt and sprinkling some sequins on the top. Sparkly snow!! Such fun!
The Real Red Pompom Trim (item 139617) makes cute “Christmas lights.” It sticks easily to the sides of the jar with a Glue Dot (item 103683) on each end.
I used a leftover I had on my desk—an embossed tree from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set (item 139728). A list of other items you could add would be endless. I’m thinking Glimmer Paper stars, tiny boxes made to look like presents, a paper gingerbread house . . .
To finish it off, tie some gold cording around the rim and dangle some Snowflake Elements (item 139638) as if it were really snowing. Add a bit of Venetian Crochet Trim (item 134581) and a Christmas greeting. And “‘Love, Peace, Joy” from the A Little Something Stamp Set (item 139830) worked perfectly to capture the Christmas vibe I want for our home.

Hope you have fun with this idea. I’d love to see your variations! Merry Christmas!
