The True Story of Rudolph

A man named Bob May, depressed and brokenhearted, stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling December night.

His 4-year-old daughter Barbara sat on his lap quietly sobbing. Bob's wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer. Little Barbara couldn't understand why her mommy could never come home. Barbara looked up into her dad's eyes and asked, "Why isn't Mommy just like everybody else's Mommy?" Bob's jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears. Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger. It had been the story of Bob's life. Life always had to be different for Bob.

Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he'd rather not remember. From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed to fit in. Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed with his little girl. But it was all short-lived. Evelyn's bout with cancer stripped them of all their savings and now Bob and his daughter were forced to live in a two-room apartment in the Chicago slums. Evelyn died just days before Christmas in 1938.

Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he couldn't even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he couldn't buy a gift, he was determined to make one ~ a storybook! Bob had created an animal character in his own mind and told the animal's story to little Barbara to give her comfort and hope. Again and again Bob told the story, embellishing it more with each telling. Who was the character? What was the story all about? The story that Bob May created was his own autobiography in fable form. The character he created was a misfit outcast like he was. The name of the character? A little reindeer named Rudolph, with a big shiny nose. Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little girl on Christmas Day. But the story doesn't end there.

The general manager of Montgomery Ward caught wind of the little storybook and offered Bob May a nominal fee to purchase the rights to print the book. Wards went on to print "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and distribute it to children visiting Santa Claus in their stores. By 1946, Wards had printed and distributed more than six million copies of "Rudolph." That same year, a major publisher wanted to purchase the rights from Wards to print an updated version of the book.

In an unprecedented gesture of kindness, the CEO of Wards returned all rights back to Bob May. The book became a best seller. Many toy and marketing deals followed, and Bob May, now remarried with a growing family, became wealthy from the story that he created to comfort his grieving daughter. But the story doesn't end there, either.

Bob's brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song adaptation to "Rudolph." Though the song was turned down by such popular vocalists as Bing Crosbyand Dinah Shore, it was recorded by the singing cowboy, Gene Autry. "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" was released in 1949 and became a phenomenal success, selling more records than any other Christmas song, with the exception of "White Christmas."

The gift of love that Bob May created for his daughter so long ago kept on returning back to bless him again and again. And Bob May learned the lesson, just like his dear friend Rudolph, that being different isn't so bad. In fact, being different can be a blessing.

YOU TOOK MY PARKING SPACE AT CHURCH

This should wake us up.

One day, a man went to visit a church, He got there early, parked his car and got out. Another car pulled up near the driver got out and said, " I always park there! You took my place!"

The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, "That's my seat! You took my place!" The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.

After Sunday School, the visitor went into the sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, "That's where I always sit! You took my place!" The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still He said nothing.

Later as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood up, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet. Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, "What happened to you?" The visitor replied, as his hat became a crown of thorns, and a tear fell from his eye, "I took your place."

When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. This is powerful. Just send this to four people and see what happens. Maybe, just maybe, we can get the world to start thinking of who took our place.

Do not break this, please.

1st Day of Winter

And then it is Winter.

You know. . . time has a way of moving quickly
and catching you unaware of the passing years.

It seems just yesterday that I was young,
just married and embarking on my new life with my mate.

And yet in a way, it seems like eons ago,
and I wonder where all the years went.

I know that I lived them all...

And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams...

But, here it is... the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise...

How did I get here so fast?

Where did the years go and where did my youth go?

I remember well...

seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people
were years away from me and that winter was so far off
that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like...

But, here it is...

my friends are retired and getting grey...
they move slower and I see an older person now.
Some are in better and some worse shape than me...
but, I see the great change...
Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant...
but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks
that we used to see and never thought we'd be.

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day!
And taking a nap is not a treat anymore... it's mandatory!
Cause if I don't on my own free will... I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so...
now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared
for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability
to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!!

But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...

this I know, that when it's over... its over...

Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done...

things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done.

It's all in a lifetime...

So, if you're not in your winter yet...

let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think.

So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly!

Don't put things off too long!!

Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today,

as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not!

You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life... so,

live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...

and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things

that you have done for them in all the years past!!

"Life is a gift to you.

The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after.

Make it a fantastic one."

LIVE IT WELL!

BE HAPPY! BE THANKFUL!

Remember "It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold or silver."

"Wait to Worry"

An Excerpt from Attitude is Everything
by Vicki Hitzges

I used to worry. A lot. The more I fretted, the more proficient I became at it. Anxiety begets anxiety. I even worried that I worried too much! Ulcers might develop. My health could fail. My finances could deplete to pay the hospital bills.

A comedian once said, "I tried to drown my worries with gin, but my worries are equipped with flotation devices." While not a drinker, I certainly could identify! My worries could swim, jump and pole vault!

To get some perspective, I visited a well known, Dallas businessman, Fred Smith. Fred mentored such luminaries as motivational whiz Zig Ziglar, business guru Ken Blanchard and leadership expert John Maxwell. Fred listened as I poured out my concerns and then said, "Vicki, you need to learn to wait to worry."

As the words sank in, I asked Fred if he ever spent time fretting. (I was quite certain he wouldn't admit it if he did. He was pretty full of testosterone-even at age 90.) To my surprise, he confessed that in years gone by he had been a top-notch worrier!

"I decided that I would wait to worry!" he explained. "I decided that I'd wait until I actually had a reason to worry-something that was happening, not just something that might happen-before I worried."

"When I'm tempted to get alarmed," he confided, "I tell myself, 'Fred, you've got to wait to worry! Until you know differently, don't worry.' And I don't. Waiting to worry helps me develop the habit of not worrying and that helps me not be tempted to worry."

Fred possessed a quick mind and a gift for gab. As such, he became a captivating public speaker. "I frequently ask audiences what they were worried about this time last year. I get a lot of laughs," he said, "because most people can't remember. Then I ask if they have a current worry - you see nods from everybody. Then I remind them that the average worrier is 92% inefficient - only 8% of what we worry about ever comes true."

Charles Spurgeon said it best. "Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, but only empties today of its strength."

Most of us want to be positive. It's advantageous to possess a sunny outlook. Doors open to optimists. They make friends, earn respect, close sales, produce loyal clients, and others enjoy and want to be like them. The question is how can we do that consistently?

That's what Attitude is Everything is all about! and many "a-ha" moments that will turn the switch from "off" to "on."

Watching The Wheels - John Lennon

If tomorrow starts without me.....................

A few weeks ago a man was killed in an auto accident.
He was very well liked, so the office shut down for his funeral and it
was on the news.
On the day the workers came back to work, they found this poem in their e-mail that the deceased man had sent on Friday before he left for home.

"If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and hug you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me, from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day is the same way,
There's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart."

You never know what's going to happen tomorrow... Show how you care, before it's too late... May God watch over you and your family now and always. There is no right time to do the wrong thing.... there is no wrong time to tell someone you care.

Great Aunt Mary 11/29/1915 - 12/3/2010

Another death put upon me.
I know it’s the Lord’s way.
I don’t like seeing people suffer as much as it hurts; sometimes it’s best for an end result. Lord, my God open your arms cause one of your children has come home. I will not fall any deeper in the morning of a loved one. I will rise in the spirit of Jesus, my Lord, as well as Great Aunt Mary, you will be missed my sister. Let us not be so sad in her passing, but rejoice in her new embarkment of life with the Lord.

Sears Holdings Heroes at Home Program

Let's make sure this makes it around to everyone.

Passing this along – on the Snopes page there is a link at the bottom where you can read about the Sears Holdings Heroes at Home Program.

Sears - Christmas shopping this year.

I know I needed this reminder, since Sears isn't always my first choice. It's amazing when you think of how long the war has lasted and Sears hasn't withdrawn from their commitment. Could we each buy at least one thing at Sears this year?

How does Sears treat its employees who are called up for military duty? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up for active duty.

Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years.

I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. I suggest we all shop at Sears at least once, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement & feedback it well deserves.

Pass it on.

I decided to check this before I sent it forward. So I sent the following e-mail to the Sears Customer Service Department:

I received this e-mail and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement for your company. I know I would go out of my way to buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item, even if it's cheaper at that store.

This is their answer to my e-mail:

Dear Customer:

Thank you for contacting Sears. The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback.

Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.

Please pass this on to all your friends. Sears needs to be recognized for this outstanding contribution and we need to show them as Americans, we do appreciate what they are doing for our military!!!

When you want life to the full...

When you want life to the full...
For years I lived full.
Full schedule.
Full plate.
Full speed ahead.

I found myself weary, wondering,
"Is this really how it's supposed to be?"

And then it seemed God asked me to learn to live differently.
To focus on love.
To make time to listen to His voice.
To embrace what He's called me to do and let all else drop away.

"Isn't that what I've already been doing?" I asked."Don't you want me to be busy, to push myself to the limit?"It seemed the heart of heaven smiled and these grace-words drifted into my day. "Daughter, I did not come to give you a full life. I came to give you life to the full."

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10

When you feel overwhelmed...

When you feel overwhelmed...
Demands knock on my door.
Burdens beckon me to answer.
The to-do list stretches for miles.

I whisper, "I feel overwhelmed."
And in the stillness it seems I hear...

"Child, open your heart to Me
instead of the demands of the day.
Lay those burdens at My feet, not on your shoulders.
Let go of your list and dare to embrace My grace.
I do not require you to be overwhelmed.
I enable you to overcome.
And with Me, you always will."

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

The Life Changing 100/0 Principle

How The 100/0 Principle Works

What is the most effective way to create and sustain great relationships with others? It's The 100/0 Principle: You take full responsibility (the 100) for the relationship, expecting nothing (the 0) in return. Implementing The 100/0 Principle is not natural for most of us. It takes real commitment to the relationship and a good dose of self-discipline to think, act and give 100 percent. The 100/0 Principle applies to those people in your life where the relationships are too important to react automatically or judgmentally. Each of us must determine the relationships to which this principle should apply. For most of us, it applies to work associates, customers, suppliers, family and friends.

STEP 1 - Determine what you can do to make the relationship work...then do it. Demonstrate respect and kindness to the other person, whether he/she deserves it or not.
STEP 2 - Do not expect anything in return. Zero, zip, nada.
STEP 3 - Do not allow anything the other person says or does (no matter how annoying!) to affect you. In other words, don't take the bait.
STEP 4 - Be persistent with your graciousness and kindness. Often we give up too soon, especially when others don't respond in kind. Remember to expect nothing in return.

Principle Paradox
This may strike you as strange, but here's the paradox: When you take authentic responsibility for a relationship, more often than not the other person quickly chooses to take responsibility as well. Consequently, the 100/0 relationship quickly transforms into something approaching 100/100. When that occurs, true breakthroughs happen for the individuals involved, their teams, their organizations and their families.

Useful Dog Tricks performed by Jesse

Learning to Dance in the Rain

"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...
it's about learning how to dance in the rain!"

I thought...that's it! We all face adversity in our life. However, it's not the adversity, but how we react to it that will determine the joy and happiness in our life. During tough times, do we spend too much time feeling sorry for ourselves, or, can we, with gratitude...learn how to dance in the rain?

It almost sounds too simple to feel important, but one word...gratitude, can change your attitude, thus, your life, forever. Sarah Breathnach said it best...

"When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present....we experience heaven on earth."

Grandma G's remedy (plus a hot-tottie)

VICKS Vapor Rub - INTERESTING

During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the
foot soles can absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and
within 20 minutes you can 'taste' it.

Some of us have used Vicks Vapo Rub for years for everything
from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've
never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time,
although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night
time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put
Vicks Vapo Rub generously on the soles of your feet, cover with socks,
and the heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay
stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is
more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough
medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they
will sleep soundly

Just happened to tune in A.M.. Radio and picked up this guy
talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good,
due to the chemicals in them This method of using Vicks VapoRub on the
soles of the feet was found to be more effective than prescribed
medicines for children at bed time. In addition it seems to have a
soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep
soundly.

My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep
constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She
said that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing
stopped in a few minutes. So she went from; every few seconds
uncontrollable coughing, she slept cough-free for hours every night she
used it.

If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end up sick,
try it yourself and you will be amazed at how it works.

DON'T SHUN THIS ONE.. TRY IT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET A BAD COLD.
THE ONLY THING YOU CAN LOSE IS YOUR COUGH..

Have a Blessed Day

Devotional from Jen Young, Mahalo Sistah!

"Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." - Psalm 27:10 NIV. .... Yes, earthly relationships often fall apart, families separate, parents abandon their children, friends come and go, but we can take comfort in knowing that the Lord will always listen, support and care!! Lean on Him, and you'll never be lonely.... Have a blessed week, sisters!!

MIA

I donated my regular 8 week pint of O+ blood (3 1/2 gallons to date) on Saturday, but an hour later when I was shopping at Kroger, I fainted outside and cracked open my head when I hit the cement. Now, I'm stuck with this staple in the back of my head for 10 days and had to argue with the nurse to get an appointment for the dr to take it out, ugh :(

Come To Me

When you are hurting, come to Me and
I will bind your wounds.

When you need to be assured, come to Me and
I will give you my embrace.

When you can no longer go on, come to Me and
I will carry you.

When you need comfort, come to me and
I will wipe your tears.

When you are uncertain of My love, come to Me and
I will speak My heart to you.

Jesus Calling

Come to Me with empty hands and an open heart, ready to receive abundant blessings. I know the depth and breadth of your neediness. Your life-path has been difficult, draining you of strength. Come to Me for nurture. Let me fill you with My Presence: I in you, and you in Me.

My Power flows most freely into weak ones aware of their need for Me. Faltering steps of dependence are not lack of faith; they are links to My Presence.

John 17:20-23; Isaiah 40:29-31

Please watch & pass along

Hi Everyone,

Former cheerleaders for the Philadelphia Eagles…

About 136 former cheerleaders got together to do a dance routine to benefit “Susan G. Komen for the Cure” (Breast Cancer).

Each time someone views the video, United Healthcare will make a donation to the Komen organization. Their goal is to get a million hits, which will lead to $100K raised.

Please can you take a moment to watch the video – and, just as important, pass this link onto your network of friends, family and colleagues?

I It benefits a very important cause!
Take care.

Help my neice achieve her Girl Scout Goal

Dear Blog Friends & Family,

My niece & godchild is participating in our Girl Scout Council's Fall Product Program. This program helps girls earn money to support our Girl Scout Leadership Experience, including fun educational and service activities that contribute to making the world a better place. This year for the first time we are piloting online sales. I am learning to manage my business online, as well as setting goals, making decisions, managing money, working with people and practicing business ethics. This is a great opportunity to help your favorite Girl Scout, as well as to purchase a great product.

Just click on the link below to view the many different varieties of nuts, candies, and gift items that we've put together just for you. You can purchase using a credit card and have them shipped to you or shipped to a friend as a gift.

This is a private link and will expire on 12/01/2010...

Thanks so much,

How a Bowl Should be Licked

This should put a smile on everyone's face!!!!
How sweet of the owner who grabbed a camera instead of chasing the puppy away.

HOW DID JEFFERSON KNOW?

IN GOD WE TRUST
ALL OTHERS PAY CASH !
( what an awesome idea )

THOMAS JEFFERSON
Obviously, he was a man ahead of his time.

Especially: Read the last quote from 1802.

When we get piled
upon one another in large cities, as in Europe,
we shall become as corrupt as Europe .
Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist
when you take away from those
who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
Thomas Jefferson

It is incumbent on every
generation to pay its own debts as it goes.
A principle which if acted on would save
one-half the wars of the world.
Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for
Americans if they can prevent the government
from wasting the labors of the people under the
pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me
that most bad government results from too much
government.
Thomas Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred
the use of arms.
Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the
people to retain the right to keep and bear arms
is, as a last resort, to protect themselves
against tyranny in government.
Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be
refreshed from time to time with the blood of
patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to subsidize with
his taxes the propagation of ideas which he
disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
'I believe that
banking institutions are more dangerous to
our liberties than standing armies.
If the American people ever allow
private banks to control the issue of their
currency, first by inflation, then by
deflation, the banks and corporations that will
grow up around the banks will deprive the people
of all property - until their children
wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers
conquered.'

I WISH WE COULD GET THIS OUT TO EVERYONE!!!

Has Anyone Told You Lately How Amazing You Are?

It's about time you heard it again.
I hear you saying, "Who me?"
I'm saying right back, "Yep, you.

You...
the one doing your thing,
making your difference,
being a glorious mess that God can use.

You... getting back up when you fall down, trying again when it doesn't work out, doing the hard, the different, taking those steps of faith.

You... wonderfully made just like you are, and on your way to becoming all He made you to be. I see you squirming in that chair, squinting a little at that screen and thinking,"That's for others but I'm not so sure about me." Believe it, receive it, it's true. This is for YOU.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:14 NIV

THE DIFFERENCE IF YOU MARRY A MICHIGAN GIRL

Three friends married women from different parts of the country.

The first man married a woman from Wisconsin . He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man married a woman from Minnesota . He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.

The third man married a girl from Michigan. He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he pees.

Thanks Jenny for sharing! LOL

My wish for You (thanks Joy)

“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”

Made to Make a Difference

Made to Make a Difference

We are created by a great God to do great works. He invites us to outlive our lives, not just in heaven, but here on earth.

God has not given us what we deserve. He has drenched his world in grace. It has no end. It knows no limits. It empowers this life and enables us to live the next.

Here's a salute to a long life:
goodness that outlives the grave,
love that outlasts the final breath.
May you live in such a way that your death is just the beginning of your life.

Outlive Your Life

Somewhere in the midst of it all, it hit you. You realized that these days are more than ice cream trips, homework, and pimples. This is called life. And this one is yours.

You've been given your life. No one else has your version.

Live in the right way, serve God, have faith, love, patience, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, grabbing hold of the life that continues forever. You were called to have that life when you confessed the good confession before many witnesses.
I Timothy 6:11-12

Great Women

Great women are not considered so because of personal achievements, but for the effect their efforts have had on the lives of countless others. From daring feats of bravery to the understated ways of a compassionate heart, great women possess a common strength of character. Through their passion and persistence, they have advanced womanhood and the world.

KISS a/k/a Keep It Simple Sane

Tips for Keeping it Simple and Sane

Thoughts can accumulate like old, dusty house clutter, and provide you with an excuse not to move forward with your life, but to dwell in the familiar.
Quit thinking about what you “should” have done. If you could have done it differently, you would have.
You must first be mentally balanced to achieve a total healthy balance in your life.
Consider words that you believe define you, words that you have heard others use to describe you, words that come from past memories, and old words that might once have been used to describe you. Are there words you are holding on to that caused you to sacrifice other, more positive words? You have the power to change those words, but it’s a choice you have to make for yourself.
Engage in every aspect of life that you can, and enjoy the ride. Accept the helping hands of travelers who have gone before you, and when you become a traveler, be ready to offer your own hand to those that need guidance in their own rides.

Gratefulness

"Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more."
