Pint Size Heroes

My daughter's elementary school is having their annual Pint Size Hero Blood Drive.

Peck Elementary School
Friday, January 22nd
3pm - 8:45pm

The Pint Size Hero program is a community service project developed by the American Red Cross to introduce children to the importance of donating blood. Th program encourages students to invite parents, guardians and other adults to give blood on their behalf.

*Each student who invites an adult to come to donate will be recognized as a Pint Size Hero and will receive an American Red Cross thank you gift and/or certificate.

*If a parent has more than one child in the school, each student will be recognized.

*Registration Deadline is Monday, January 11th.

Tomorrow's life-saving blood donations will be made by today's children who are taught the importance of blood donation. Please consider donating blood to help your student and help save a life. To donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and provide a valid photo ID upon donation. If you have any questions regarding the blood drive, please contact your blood drive coordinator at 586-510-2600 (Jamila Wilson, Donor Recruitment Representative).

So far, Alayna has 4 people on the sign up sheet, but if you are interested, just shoot me an email and I can give you the info for her to get credit.

This program was what got me started donating and so far, I've donated over 2 gallons of blood in 3 years, 21 pints and am only 2 pints away from earning my 3rd gallon pin! YAHOO!
